Bay Trust Radio Secures Grant from BAE Systems Submarines GAYE Scheme

Bay Trust Radio, the local hospital radio station, is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a grant of £438.16 through the BAE Systems Submarines Give As You Earn (GAYE) scheme.

This funding will enable the station to purchase four iRig microphone interfaces, allowing volunteers to conduct interviews on location and even deliver live outside broadcasts. These upgrades will help Bay Trust Radio continue to connect with the community and share engaging content beyond the studio walls.

John Williamson, Chairman of Bay Trust Radio, said:
"This grant is absolutely fantastic and will help move the station forward with modern technology. I would personally like to thank BAE Systems Submarines GAYE for their generous support—it means a great deal to our charity and the work we do."

Windermere Taverners Celebrate Landmark Fundraising Season with Major Donations

The Windermere Taverners recently held their annual presentation evening & handed out around £17,000 in donations to 25 local organisations.

The Taverners, who play weekly cricket matches against various clubs and groups during the summer months, were extremely proud to have raised such a record amount in one season and invited the beneficiaries to attend the event, held at Windermere Social Club.

Chairman Andy Aughpin, in opening the evening, explained that the weekly matches had become fun, competitive matches followed by increased fundraising events by all the competing teams, assisted by the generous hospitality at The Brookside, Windermere.

Donations were given to help leisure and community based organisations to help those in the vicinity of Windermere and the surrounding area.

These ranged from bowling, badminton, ladies football and hockey clubs to air ambulance, arts society, foodbank and Christmas lights.

Two of the recipients – the boxing club and first responders gave short demonstrations of their skills during the evening.

Awards were also given to the best (& worst) performers on the cricket pitch during The Taverners’ season.

A buffet was a tasty way to end the evening with the local community also having a chance to network with those of a similar mind.
